The Original Take was created to as a place to express the perspectives of a longtime mainframe professional with nothing to sell but plenty to say.
As vendors promote mainframe products and services to organizations where many of the people making purchasing and strategic decisions have little direct experience maintaining or evolving mainframe applications, this site provides original thinking, clear analysis, and commentary rooted in real operational experience.
Many decades in the mainframe application development and maintenance space has left me with unique insight into where the mainframe ecosphere is today and how we got here. As an individual contributor my posts will be based on decades of my own personal experiences across many industries.
